Trauma to the spinal cord is unfortunately common. It can occur in all manner of situations from being involved in a car accident to losing your footing whilst changing a light bulb, from a random spinal bleed to an impact whilst playing your favourite sport. Many spinal cord injury incidences result in paralysis and a whole host of associated problems for the individual. Most victims are in their late teens to mid twenties, but anyone is at risk, at any time and finding a cure for this tragic condition will ease immense suffering and debilitation, allowing victims to reclaim their lives.
